Time

We have no time to seek revenge with justice in our veins

Nor time to curse this broken world for when oppression reigns

We have no time to fight with guns when love is stronger still

Nor time to wait for days to come, as fear so often will

We have no time to sit unmoved as mother earth is quaking

Nor time to watch her soil fuse with blood of lives we're taking

We have no time for silence as our sisters cry in pain

Nor time to wait as children's minds are swayed by fear's campaign

We cannot sit while man is waging war against his brothers

Nor wait as lines are drawn for us defining "them" as others

We have no time for thoughts that dwell upon divided past

Nor time for separation when our unity must last

We have no time for thinking in the ways of yesterday

Nor time to live in black and white, in fear of shades of gray

We have no time for anger, only justice, faith, and peace

As we learn to move in love then our wars of hate will cease

We have only time for love in a world so moved by fear

To pray we live into a day when lasting peace is here
