But many times the path of truth is blocked by human mask
We hide within our fear and uncertainty of self
Storing naked selves once more on worry's lonely shelf
For when we open up to let the face of love inside
We show ourselves in brokenness with nothing left to hide
Our strengths and our accomplishments are ready to be seen
But sitting right beside them are the things we try to screen
The worries, fears, and shamefulness, the deep uncertainty
The parts of us kept secret that we don't let others see
But being loved in full requires us to show
The things within ourselves that we're trying to let go
In recognizing humanness within a fellow being
We realize our connectedness, a truth that's fully freeing
For when we truly love, we love what's pure and real:
In our genuine humanity we've nothing to conceal
