Deep Desire

I have this deep desire
That's been planted in my core
A longing to be real
To be spirit, flesh, and more
It carries me at times
When I want to fall to fear
When I struggle to explore
This foreign, life frontier
It moves me into action
As I pass from word to deed
With courage in my veins
No longer scared to bleed
It drives me to love deeper
And harder ev'ry time
And though I thought I'd hit plateau
My heart pursues the climb
No words can give it meaning
No map can chart its course
And though I cannot know
Deep down, I know its Source
And so, this deep desire
That's been planted in my core
Is the only breath I need
And I long for nothing more
